Gloria and Ted Kezos 1st SSB Tournament in Reno

We are on our way to Reno for the Senior Softball Tournament. We always celebrate John's birthday at the tournament.

The murals in Ely are beautiful. We didn't get all of them but you get the idea.
You really need to see this to believe it!!!

This was a sign that people had made protesting the "shoe tree". They said we were ruining the tree. It was quite a story. I hope you can click on it and read it all.

The tree has grown so tall people can't make their shoes stay on the branches so there is this gully full of shoes.

Gloria Kezos and I posing for a picture. We didn't have any spare shoes to throw up so we just enjoyed the site.

There was another car stopped so we had them take a picture of us near the tree. We are a handsome four some, don't you think?

We tried to get a picture of the top of the tree. You really need to see this to enjoy the magnitude of it.

The Beautiful Ball Fields in Sparks NV. The Golden Eagle Regional Parks. They Are All Astor Turf.
John and Alvie. This is the first time Alvie has been to see his grandpa play softball. He was pretty impressed. Our grandson Alvie John Guy Hafen. He is almost 6 feet tall but he looks rather small in the softball mitt.

This is the greatest statue I've seen in the softball diamonds. It shows so many expressions and you feel so small when your having your photo taken.

Our best cheerleader in Sparks. She comes every year and supports us. Sheilah C. She is Marie Mulls sister. A fun person to know.
Sheilah and Salty. The team is always happy to see her at the fields. She cheers as much as the rest of us. Thanks, Sheilah. Alvie and Grandma Pearl. I feel so short around him. It was so much fun to have him support us.

Ted and Gloria Kezos and Pearl and John Peters. Glo and Ted were really impressed with everything we did during the games. They are great friends and we have known them since Buena Park days. Around 1963

This game was so exciting. Check out the scores in both pictures and also the innings. What a wild and woolly game. We won !!!! The "boys" as I call them. Ted and John. They are glad to be here together. We've had a struggle getting them here but it was worth it.

We needed our picture taken also. Glo and Pep.

The games are over. We were 4 wins and 3 loses. The close game was worth it all!!!! On the way out we saw this Golden Eagle. It makes the name Golden Regional Parks more memorable. There are many fields and more to come. Baseball, soccer, football etc. You can't believe it until you see it.

We have stayed here for years. When we came the first time, the Atlantis gave our team really good rates and we've used them since.
This is one of the many water fountains shooting out for us to see. This is one of the reasons we like to stay here. It is so beautiful.

We are eon our way home and Salty let me take a few pictures that we didn't have time for on the way up. Thanks, Honey!!!!!
These are two old buildings in Eureka NV. We stopped for gas and an ice cream. I love old buildings and the next time we come through we hope to go through their museum. We hear it is a great place to see.

On the way we stopped to eat at this fabulous restaurant. They have the best home made pie you have ever eaten. Sad for us they ran out of ice cream so we didn't get pie Alamo. We'll do that next time.
I was a pest and wanted some pictures of the beautiful yellow flowers. John finally pulled over and hiked up the road to get the best shots and he came back with this skeleton. What do you think it is? The next shot is of the flowers plus a shot of the road. It is always fun to see where you've been and where your going. This is what we wanted to get on the way up but missed the spot it came on us so quick so we stopped on the way home and believe me, it was The Loneliest Road in America. It was also very pretty, you must make sure you have enough fuel and anything else you might need. Ted took this picture of John and I. He is always so happy to have his picture taken when we are travelling but this time he was a good sport. I really think it was because Glo and Ted were with us. :)
We made it home in one piece and will soon be going on another softball trip.
