Danny Missionary Companions

Eliza keeping track of how many days Danny has been gone with great stickers.

Grandpa Pete is in charge of all the writing on this poster. It is on the side of Net's door so everyone can see it when they come in the house.

We didn't know how to do it all in one shot. It is nice and large and my new hair dresser would like to get one like it for her boyfriend. Can anyone help us locate another one like it? The same size, not smaller. Thanks

This is over by the computer. It was fun putting it up and seeing everything that has been added since he left.

Not the wee this time, but X-Box Scrabble. What a blast they had playing it. I don't think it is my game but it was fun watching them. John finally mastered the controls. Jonah had gone to a prom the night before-and this morning so he was wiped out but he came to when it was his turn.

Eliza was feeling a little ill but she did beat everyone, I think. She is watching Grandpa Pete. Look at the way he is concentrating.

He has moved Grantsville

Welcome to Wendover, NV We made a quick stop to see if this statue was still there. It has moved from the first entrance to the last. This always reminded Mom of Ed. Jan's grandchildren always thought so too. They would see it when they traveled around the horse races.

Pearl and IdaHoggan. What a delightful visit we had with her. She had her 90th birthday March 4th and she is relief society president of her little branch. She has more energy than I have or anyone else that I can think of unless it is Jane, our daughter.

We stopped to see Margie. She is one of Annette's friends and Ida's daughter. She had been ill and really didn't want her picure taken but I told her it was for Annette so she let me take it.

Ida took us around Grantsville. We ate at a great Mexican Resturant, one of two in town. The food was so good and the service was fast. I'm sorry I didd't have my camera with me, but maybe next time. Annette took the water polo team there and it was fun for them. They were short handed becasue some people called in sick but they fixed meals for the players and coach first and then the rest. I think they'll go back again, we will. The other resturant is Chinese.

The High Schcool is very nice and large. All of the surrounding communities go there, but a new one is opening in the fall. That is always a tramitic experience for the seniors. They are the Cowboys. It was fun looking at everything.

Curb numbers

Brothers Ryan Mendal, Jeffrey Chapman and Mark Youngberg painting our house number on the curb. 428

Scout Fund Raiser + Emergency Preparedness for our Red Cliffs 8TH Ward,St. George Stake.

Our Emergency Preparedness committee have offered to paint the curbs with house numbers so they can see them when they come into Padre Lakes and other housing in our ward boundaries. Many home addresses have been painted on the curbs. Thank you, thank you!!!!

Brandon Hatch, son of Anita and Quinn Hatch has developed cancer once more. Many youth and members of the ward wanted to help the Hatch family. Bishop Hatch was given a assignment to take care of his family. Brother Homer and Brother Randall, bishopric members along with the stake presidency took over his responsibilities. He lost his home, his job and everything seemed to snow ball. He is a wonderful bishop and will always be remembered for his love, kindness and his strong never wavering testimony of the gospel. He was released May 31, on John's birthday and we sustained Bishop Mehr. Bishop Mehr chose Brother Homer as first counselor and Todd Benson as the second counselor. Brother Randall was sustained as a member of the high council.

There was a secret yard sale planned by many ward members at Lin's Market on Saturday June 6.$3,000.00 was raised. What a loving helpful community we have in Ivins, Santa Clara and St. George. There may have been others and we want to thank them also. We wish them well. They now have a home, insurance, job and Brandon seems to be doing better.

We are ll grateful for that news.

birthday, flowers Cinco de Mayo shirt

This is a sample of my gifts I received for my birthday.
This is one of the minature rose bush that I brought home from Payson, UT when we sold the farm. They looked lovely at Mom and Dad's house and I was glad Mom,Shari and Jan kept them alive so I could bring them here. They are doing so well.

I received this flower two years ago for Mother's Day at church. It keeps coming up every year and looks so pretty. I love it when I just need to water them and give them TLC :)

I don't know this name either but they love being here because they keep blooming and looking so pretty.

This little rose bush has had some problems. John cut it off one year, the gardners did the same. I had a Bleeding Heart in the tomato cage and John pulled dit up thinking it was a weed. I cried it was so beautiful and so I keep the cage around it and it is more beautiful this year than last.

It is so much fun to wear this shirt on May 5th. It was made for me when I was teaching in Laguna Hills, CA and it looks like new and I have so many complments on it. For some reason the earrings didn't show, they are fiber and look like Mexican Hats. Pretty cool I think.

Murals on the stores at Searchlight NV

I love to see murals on the sides or fronts of old buildings. Check out the detail of each one.
There are some in Ely, NV and also Winnemucca. I wish I had of had my digital camera when we saw them. Who knows, we may make it back and I'll publish them.
The artist are so talented and it is great tot see them share that talent and to have the cities help preserve them.

Easter 4-12-09

Jonah looking for the eggs. He thought he had sharper eyes sthana Eliza. They each knew how many "real eggs" and how many plastic they could find. It was fun to watch them.
Grandpa always puts some in the prickly bushes. It is hard to see and hurts your hands. They try to find them there first.

Oh NO!!! Not in the trash can, Grandpa Pete.

Grandma Pearal always wears her Easter Shirts. She thinks she needs some new ones but she only wears them at Easter so they look like new.
This is one of the favorites. Her friend in Laguna Hills made them for her. A very talented lady.

David, Pam and Grandma Pearl just watchig the egg hunt. David had fun
tryingto tell them where to look. Pam was recovering from kee surgery so she wasn't as involved as she usually is. This should of been # 1 photo. They were so anxious to get started.

Counting the eggs to make sure Jonah didn't take some of her's We always have fun doing Easter Hunts with whom ever is around. This year it was Eliza and Jonah. Last year it was with Sariah.
Grandpa Pete has a lot of fun hiding the eggs. There have been some "real ones" found in the summer. What a stinky mess. This year we found the children found two plastic eggs that hadn't been found last year. Hw do we know, Eliza counted all of the eggs she brought over to hide and then the ones that we had when they got here. All of the eggs were foud but one. We laughed when Annette and her children left and said we'd find it next year. Monday Net called about 5:00 p.m. She had driven her car home to Cedar City, to work, ran errands and dropped Eliza off to her swim lesson. When she picked her up she got a lump in her throat because she could see the gas tank lid looked semi open. When they got there to investigate what did they find but the last egg. As soon as Grandpa heard he remembered hiding it there. Can you imagine that staying in the cocmpartment with all the driving she had done. I guess that get the prize for 2009. We all had a good laugh over that.

Annette , Eliza and Jonah scored. They gave me the beautiful waving singing flag . I claim is as Easter and Birthday gift. I love it and the words and music are so clear. If I knew how to do it I'd put it on as a video, but I guess you'll just come to see me and hear it for your self.

Laughlin Colorado Belle

This is pool at the Colorado Belle We stayed there for the first time. The water was beautiful.
Look at all these fish. They were the delight for everyone who went into the hotel.
A mock picture of the Colorado Belle. Donated by the artist. Every detail was clear and easy to see and read.

This is the shirt that was given to the teams who played in the tournament. They are really nice.
