WOW!!!! It never rains but what it pours. In case you didn't know when we went to Laughlin to bowl with the Elks and Friends we had a horrible blowout!!!! We've had our car for 4 years and never had a bit of trouble. We had just turned on the road that said Laughlin was 19 miles away. I new I didn't feel good but then there are those days when everyone has a bad day so I just plugged along. If we didn't show our team would forfeit and that was not good. We had gone 2 miles and I was glad we were almost there when we heard this horrible noise. I thought it was the ruff road but John said it was the tire. We pulled over as far as we could, put on our hazard lights and hoped we'd make it to the truck stop. We did, the tire was ruined and there was a truck stopped so John went over to ask for his help, but not until he had unloaded the back end of the car. This kind man said "yes, he would help us." When he jumped out of his cab he was limping and I felt so bad. We couldn't find the spare so I suggested we look in the manual. We had the jack but that silly spare was under the car, held up by a screw?? for lack of a better word. We only had to look in the second seat to find the bolt that let the tire down. He was so quick and really knew what he was doing. When he was all trough he wouldn't let us buy him dinner or pay him. Said we could help someone someday. He was headed for New Mexico. We are so grateful for him and we didn't even get his name.
John got us registered , me to bed and then he went to Bullhead City to see if he could find a BIG O. He was so happy he found it and we ended up buying a new tire.
I started reading a new book, MY SERGEI by Ekaterina Gordeeva. A love story. I was so miserable I didn't finish it until our next trip. I have finished it now and want to quote what Ekaterina has to say about moving on when they have lost the most important man in her life.
"You must ask God for help. You must tell God you understand that life goes on, and now you must skate. You must thank God for giving you Sergei for half of your life, the most beautiful time in your life. This is about how all people can get up from their knees in the face of adversity, can go forward, can have the strength to persevere. You can fine someone to live for. You can have a life of your own."
