Sunday July 11, 2010

It was our 52nd wedding anniversary so this was indeed a special day for all of us.

Thanks for everyone who brought food and shared so many memories with Danny. He was a super missionary and I'm sure he'll be missed in the field. Spain, Malaga was his mission.

This is the first time in a long while we've had our children together for a photo. Everyone looks so happy and they were glad to have a picture taken. There were many more taken, I hope someone shares a "real one" as Pam would say.

Teresa's girls with Eliza. They are all so beautiful.

We figured there were about 30 people to the church. Our friends Mona and Gloria didn't come to the house so we didn't get pictures of them. I hope I got everyone else. John was helping and we did our best.

Pam and David, they were the Bar-b-Que cookers for this lunchon. They did a great job. John and his uncle.

Annette and Teressa and John's Aunt and Uncle from St. George.

I don't know where Elsie age 4 disappeared. She is a doll.. You'll just half to check out the next blog, Paul's vacation.

Nathan age 6, and Kayla age 8. They love to read. Kayla is reading Harry Potter and I can't remember what Garrett is reading but it is thick too.
Garrett age 10. Grandpa Pete age 75. Something made him think.

Paul's children found something to read and read until it was time for them to eat.

Danny's missionary companion and two of the LM's . They all lived close enough to come hear him report his mission to his ward. I saw their pictures in the Spectrum and mailed it to Annette so she could connect them. Danny was thrilled and surprised.

Staci and her mom,Kay. A nice surprise for all of us. They look so good. They brought lots of fresh fruit and a pasta salad.

John was able to spot Danny's plane and get these shots. Pretty good photography John. Thanks a lot.

Danny given his Mom a well deserved HUG !!!! Annette put a lei around Danny's neck because he'll be going back to Hawaii to school.

Here we are waiting. The plane was on time but it didn't come as fast as we wanted it to.

Danny could not believe Eliza. She had changed the most. He just kept looking and looking!!!!

Jonah waited so patiently. There were many tears of joy shed.

Trying to take our turn greeting him. We were all soooo excited and so was he.

We were all ready to greet him. Aunt Jane made the poster. Where is she? We only got one group shot of her , no single with Danny. I hope someone else did.

I just had to fly our flag. Danny was happy to see it.

Meeting Grandma and Grandpa Pete as he came off the plane.

John surprises Danny and comes to St. George

RENAISSANCE FAIR IN CEDAR CITY

All dressed up and off to the dunkin booth"

Getting ready to go !!!!!

Who will win ????

Best looking Pirates in the park.

Isn't she a darling pirate?

There must be one patriotic pirate in the park, guess who?

One more time !!!!!

Where is John Depp? She is ready to go.

The theme was pirates and Jane decided we had to dress up. It was fun dressing Jonah, Eliza and Annette. They were earning money to support their water polo team next year.

We were glad Jonah was not afraid to poise with us. Is he "Yummy" or not?

Showing how much he likes his sister.

She liked this picture better.

Grandpa Pete wanted all of the pictures taken to be on the blog.
Did he dress up ----- OH NO !!!!!

The Southwest Wildlife Foundation was founded in 1997. November of 2000 Rocky Mountain Power donated 22.6 majestic canyon acres in Cedar City to create a permanent wildlife rescue facility and nature park. Spring of 2003 brought a paved walking and bicycle trail connecting the 23 acre nature park area to the city's existing trail system. 2004 the National Park Service awarded a technical assistance "grant" to build support for the development of the Southwestern Utah Nature Center. A Visitors Center will provide information, exhibits and programs on wildlife, plants, the environment and natural history. Below you'll see some of the trained birds shown at the fair.

This Falcon was at the fair. What a beautiful bird.

This was John's favorite photo. You can see the wings fluttering, so fast.

There has been a wild life preservation given to this fellow. It was very interesting hearing how the Indian tribe of the Paiute's are helping them .

Posters telling you more about the foundation as the birds were on display for everyone to see just how magnificent they were.

We were taking a few minutes to rest and watch the show.

Finding old friends at the fair, made Jonah very happy. Look how tall he is !!!!! Jonah is tall but he has him beat by a head.

No one wanted to ride this camel. He sure was big.

The climbing wall.
