Look at Elsie

They have beautiful clouds in Ocenside. Everyone loved Saturday because it was such nice weather.

Look at me in the tree!! I'll hang on tight..

This little girl is part monkey, she loves to climb and is climbing on the ledge of the window. She is very brave and tries not to let you know she is doing it and loves the attention in own little way.I can get down by my self. She loves her "softy"

Going to visit the Paul Peters family in Oceanside

When we started out from Palm Springs to Oceanside we got into this storm. It is so pretty but I'd rather be inside than riding in the car. Seems every time we changed traveling places the rain followed us. I haven't seen so much snow, rain, sleet and hail in a long time. Seems like everyone is having the same weather pattern. We need the moisture but we'd like it when we want it and not when Mother Nature gives it to us. I'm glad we made it without any problem. :)

Nathan is really into the movie that the children are watching on the T.V. They said their "hello's" and then went back to their movie. They do love their movies, the computer with their games and their bikes.
I loved this little cartoon and wanted to share it with everyone on our blog.

Garrett, Elsie and Kayla really into their show. I wish we could remember what it was but we know it was cute and they loved it. They have special times when they can watch a movie.
Elsie wanted to go out side. We loved her "Dora " jacket. Look at those eyes, they are bright blue like her sister Kayla's.
Grandpa John even got involved in watching the movie. We wished we could remember what they were watching. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Elsie wasn't sure she wanted us to be her friend. She had just woken up from a late nap after we arrived but she soon warmed up to Grandpa John. Does that surprise me? Not at all.
Kayla watching the movie, but ready to go outside the minute everyone was ready. Check out the way she is setting. Oh! To be that young and agile again.
Grandpa and Elsie and I were going to drive the car over to the Lowe's parking lot where they ride their bikes because there was plenty of space and no cars to worry about. Elsie decided she didn't want to ride in our car, she wanted her own car, Paul finally put her in the carriage and she rode with him. They had so much fun riding their bikes and and I walked while Grandpa showed The Lion King and each one of the children took turns watching the movie.
Check out Garrett's helmet and glasses. I think he belongs in Hollywood.
Nathan was across the rode on his scooter but when we went to ride the bikes at Lowe's he rode his own bike. While we were there Paul put some fancy pipes on the spokes and he thought he was a "cool" as the big boys.(I don't know what they were called but Nathan did and was happy).

Nate, Garrett and Gabe. They are ready to ride. Gabe is their friend and he went to the beach with us at Thanksgiving time. I can't get use to all of the modern equipment they have for young people now days. They didn't have anything like that when Paul was a boy.
Check out Nate's Peace Sign, he was always doing that when we were taking pictures. We had a struggle keeping the fingers down and not in his cute face.

Elsie wanted us to see her bike. She loves it but would rather ride behind in her special "car" so she can go fast. Paul and Rabecca do a lot of bike riding with the children.
Rabecca was at the San Diego Temple Saturday. She is a volunteer the 2nd Saturday of the month and really enjoys it.
Kayla is already to go on that bike ride. She can go as fast as the boys and is very good at jumping. She knows how to use her brakes when it is necessary. She rides like the wind.
She is such a darling girl. She wiped out on her bike when she was riding with her dad, check out her face and the seven stitches under her chin. She has also lost some teeth and had one hanging by a thread but there was NO way she was going to let me pull it. I told her I was the champion tooth puller but she didn't care. She also is the first one to put her helmet on. They all know the rules and practice good bike skills.

Friends in Palm Springs

This beautiful mural was on top of a picnic table. It was too beautiful for me to eat on. I'm proud to be an American.
Our friend Blaine Hendrickson came to watch us play. He use to play on our team when we all lived in Laguna Hills. It was great to see him and I was amazed at how well he kept score in his head and track of the innings also. Something I've always had trouble doing after all these years.
This is one awesome picture. I'm going to send it to Paul as a e-mail so he can show Blaine's son Jeff. Jeff and Paul surf together almost every Saturday.
Team Meeting !!!!

This was an interesting sign and it was posted on all of the fields. Do you think the players and spectors were better behaved? I hope so.
# 3 Salty, player and coach of this team.
Carol Bankhead, wife of Keith. She likes to come to the games and we walk together and that is fun.
Jan King, Sheila Taylor and Karen Hazel. Her husband Jugg is Carl Butlers cousin.
Carolee Nelson, our Social Director, head cheer leader, and scorekeeper.
There were many wives at the game. We have a lot of fun and we always go out and eat as a group and try new places to eat. We have a s"social director" and she is the greatest.

Softball in Palm Springs 2/10/13

We were surprised to see so much snow on the mountains as we traveled to Palm Springs. It is supposed to be "The High Desert". They have had more rain and snow as the rest of us have had. We found out that the tournament had been rained out Monday for the 65+ teams.

These funny looking "windmills" are generating electricity and they were so fascinating to us. They are putting some up Spanish Fork ,UT in the canyon. Many people think they are destroying the beauty of the country but we don't agree with them. The next photo shows the snow on the mountains, the windmills and green vegetation. We were so close to the next one and when I try to write underneath the picture it shows up blue writing and it is underlined. If anyone can help me correct this I'd appreciate them telling me . :)

I'm going to blog in several segments. The first pictures are of the scenery going to Palm Springs. Friends at Paul Springs 3rd shots of the games and etc.

Region Swim Meet-SUU-State Swim Meet- BYU

The region finals were Thursday and Friday January 23rd and 24th. They were at SUU., in Cedar City Utah. John was there Thursday with Annette and then we both went back Friday and stayed the night.
The finals were at BYU and we were there for the meet as I told you in the Draper Temple blog.

Jonah didn't get to swim Friday and was chosen to wear the Indian Outfit. They are the Cedar City Red Men. He played the part well.

Saturday was the big day. Janice opted to stay home so Pam, Annette and I met Eliza and John at the pool. They saved us seats on top of the first bleachers so Pam didn't half to go up and down too many stairs. We were close to the starting blocks and also the finish line. Great seats!!! During the 500 meter race we stretched our legs.

Jonah came to give Aunt Pam a hug before his race.s. Jonah in the water.Timers and judges are very important to the swimmers. Wow!!! What a race. Jonah took 3rd in his race and we were so proud of him. He placed 17th overall and they only published # 16 and above. # 16 gave them one point. We didn't mind, we were so proud of him and we'll look forward to see what he does next year.

We are moving on to Water Polo and that is a great sport for me and all of the ladies who do water aerobics at 8:00 a.m. are hoping they have a match close enough they can go see it. Most of them have never seen Water Polo except maybe on T.V. during the Olympics.
